“It is especially remarkable that the duration of the course is shortened, while the quality is increased.”
Thanks to our collaboration with the ECOD (Educational Expertise Centre Defence), over 30 active GPAL projects are currently being run at the Dutch military. GPAL is used for onboarding, educating, training, and job support at schools as well as in the workplace.
After visiting the DGOTC (Healthcare training centre), The Commander of the Netherlands Armed Forces (CDS) Lieutenant admiral Rob`Bauer talks about the advantages of GPAL in his blog post. “It is especially remarkable that the duration of the course is shortened, while the quality is increased.”
Due to COVID-19, courses in the training centre were abruptly put to a stop, resulting in the centre entirely innovating the courses within only three weeks.
“The DGOTC uses new technological means in their courses. The students film their newly learned tasks and upload them in the GPAL app. They share and evaluate each other’s video’s in order to practice and improve their skills. The instructors can watch the videos and ask focused questions and discuss problems with individual students”.
The students are very positive. They think that this way of learning and working is more fun and gives them more freedom. Because the students reflect upon their own videos and practice on their own, the material is more easily remembered. Even the instructors are positive about this new method of learning.
“The training centre staff showed me that they are able to focus more on the individual qualities of students and manage time more efficiently.”
